Riser Installation, UKCS

As part of the SHARP works to extend the operating life of the Leman and Inde fields, James Fisher Offshore (JFO) supported our customer Rever Offshore with the task of riser relocation. The works were split into two campaigns and phase 1 in 2020 was the installation of a new riser on the existing C2 leg of the AP platform.

JFO provided all winch lifting equipment for both the platform and dive support vessel, as well as a suite of air hoists for cross-hauling the riser over the cellar deck on the platform. With a dedicated JFO project engineer and a nominated technical and commercial point of contact, JFO were able to provide full project support from bid through to project completion and a full suite of equipment for platform and back deck requirements. Thus streamlining both commercial and operational procedures/processes, providing a single subcontract and combining multiple equipment function tests for a single client inspection.

JFO technicians were fundamental to the efficient operation of the lifting equipment at critical path stages and maintained the equipment package throughout the project. The reactive JFO team enabled quick resolutions to unexpected challenges encountered during the project and overcame issues without impacting the overall project, enabling Rever Offshore to complete the project to schedule.
