Subsea umbilical removal for the Judy platform
Scope of works:
The James Fisher Offshore (JFO) 30T subsea winch successfully removed a subsea umbilical, through a J-tube to the Judy platform. Removal operations were carried out in two phases over a five week period with the subsea winch being deployed subsea throughout the project.
The FAT and SIT for the equipment was witnessed by the end client and conducted at JFO headquarters in Oldmeldrum, saving on multiple inspection visits and confirming compatibility of the equipment package prior to mobilisation offshore.
Scope of supply:
- 360° rotational subsea winch operated from deck hydraulic power unit (HPU) via downlines and through a single hot stab
- Twin HPU
- 3 line hydraulic reeler
- Experienced technician
JFO’s multi-skilled technician operated both the subsea winch and other specialist equipment on the scope via JFO’s HPU and downline reeler. The diver interconnection was carried out subsea, therefore saving on vessel time as the unused equipment could be left wet stored between parts of the scope.
Our innovative subsea winch design and expert technician ensured successful and efficient operation for the customer.
